 A role model has good influence on a child. An ideal role model is someone you can look upto. However, I dont think Mary Kate and Ashley are the best role models for children! Teachers are the best role models as they instill values, good morals and also live by their teachings. After all, a child interacts with the teacher for most part of the day. My daughter studying at Orchids the International School, Bangalore, simply loves her English teacher and copies her at home.

 i am not too sure about mary kate and ashley being great roles models - not with everything that has been written in the press recently about one of them having an eating disorder

 how bout the bad role models? like the ones on tv that look like a twig? that gives little girls and teenagers, even adults a idea that they must look like that.that is not a good role model to others. it makes people go on bad diets and sometimes wind up with a desease.

 children of all ages need positive guidance and competent role models. for very young children, parents and primary caregivers will most likely occupy these roles, and thats the way it should be.

 hannah montana is a good role model because she is confident, encouraging, but private and humble as well. she is confident that her music is good she doesn't need to dress in a disrepectful way to make her music sell. every song she sings has a powerful message and educates people to believe in themselves. last but not least she is very humble and on her show she doesn't want to be treated special because she's hannah montana, but just like everyone else. that is what makes her so likeable because she is down to earth. she is a great role model and everyone loves her!!!!

 they are good rolemodels, not so much of marykate but ashley (remember just because her sister went through that doesnt mean she did) ashley is succesful, and well shaped.

 i think role models can be someone who is close to you...and, they maybe elder or younger than urself...and, yup... i do think , role models can be anyone that you want to be, you can imitate their behaviour, but, never try to be them, cos u will never do that... just try to put in some of ur special character then, u maybe even more successful than they are!! that is my point of view.. and, i dont think a young celebrity, like paris hilton can be a good role model, cos...i think she has anything good for us to take...

 miley cyrus/hannah montana is probably the best teen roel model right now. she is very down to earth, kind, and she even said herself that brittany spears is not a good person because of what she did. and i know miley will never become the next brittany spears.

 i think to have put mary-kate & ashley olsen in there was not a very smart move. yes they created an empire by working hard & not from mommy & daddy. however, for a young girl to look up to them, they are bound to see they lifestyle they are currently living. partying much more then any one person should be partying & having an eating disorder. a role model should be a well rounded person. and that doesn't necessarily included being richly successful.
